Mrs. Amy is the owner and director of PIVOT Dance Company.
After all 3 of her girls suffered verbal, physical, and/or emotional abuse within the dance industry, the Lord placed on her heart a desire to build a safe place for children to pursue their dreams of dance. With this intent came the result that parents would never have to worry about the happenings behind the closed door of a dance class.
Amy and her husband, Billy, have built PIVOT on a God honoring foundation of transparency and trust. They take great care to ensure that all routines and classes are age appropriate. At PIVOT there are no surprise fees, there are no risque costumes, and there is no explicit music. Protecting the innocence of our children is of utmost importance.
Mrs. Amy's motto that the dancers hear often is: "Our dance classes and routines are designed to either bring joy, bring a message, or both." Our goal is always to reflect the One who gifted us our talents in the first place.

Ms. Barbara owns English Theatre Arts in Greenville, SC. She has been teaching dance for 30 years and has worked with many dance studios in the area. Ms. Barbara blesses our dancers by traveling to PIVOT each week to teach our Wednesday ballet classes.

Coach Lauren has been teaching dance in the Upstate for 13 years. She has worked with Spartanburg Little Theatre, choreographed musicals and taught musical theatre at Limestone College and Dorman High school, choreographed for the creative arts program for Church at the Mill, and worked with pageant participants from many different states choreographing their talent routines. We are so excited to have Lauren as a weekly teacher this year at PIVOT.

Coach Whitney began choreographing for PIVOT in 2024. An excellent teacher with passion and patience, she is truly a joy to be around. She has been teaching/choreographing dance in the upstate since she gradated from Limestone College in 2019. While at Limestone, Whitney was a 3-year captain on the dance team, MVP, and an NDA All-American Dancer. One of her favorite memories is getting to dance on stage with New Kids on the Block.

Coach Oxaly has been an instructor with PIVOT since we opened our doors back in 2022. She is our Hip Hop Queen! Her class is always a favorite with her traditional Hip Hop teaching style. Oxaly brings years of her own dance experience and training to PIVOT. We are truly blessed to have her on the team.
The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:12, "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."
We believe that the Lord gifts talents and places passions on the hearts of His people, and He does so with purpose. We believe that these talents/passions can show up at a young age and that we are called to come along side these youth to help them develop these gifts and passions in ways that honor His will and His Kingdom.
We may be the only studio in the Upstate that allows such coaching opportunities to those so young... and we are okay with that... because we have seen these youth blossom and can't wait to see what is next on the horizon for each of them.
PIVOT is simply blessed to be along for the ride :)

Coach Abbie is a rising sophomore at Mountain View Preparatory Charter School. She has danced since the age of 2 and aspires to pursue a career in the performance industry. She enjoys teaching and choreographing almost, if not equally as much, as she enjoys performing. She has choreographed for PIVOT for the past 2 years and actually received PIVOT's very first Choreography Award from a dance competition this past year for "Don't Let Me Down," a contemporary routine she choreographed for our Junior Dance Team.
Fun Fact: Abbie bleeds orange... she's a Clemson Tiger through and through.

Coach Annelise is a rising 8th grader at Mountain View Preparatory Charter School. She has danced since the age of 4 and played softball since she was 9. This year she is also trying her hand at tennis. Annelise is a shining example of something we are very passionate about here at PIVOT: Children should be allowed to pursue more than one passion. Annelise's work ethic is beyond her years and we are proud for her to begin her first season of coaching.
Fun Fact: Annelise LOVES to do other peoples hair and makeup
